Dr. Williams participated as an invited teaching faculty member at a hair restoration surgery workshop teaching hair surgeons how to successfully perform Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE). The event, FUE Palazoo 2016, was sponsored by the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery and Dr. James Harris. The course offered live “hands on” training for physicians learning FUE donor harvesting. The workshop provided 20 physicians from the United States, Asia, Central America, and Europe the opportunity to learn FUE donor harvesting from Dr. James Harris (Colorado), Scott Boden (Connecticut), Brad Wolf (Ohio), Bob True (New York), and Ken Williams (California).

The surgical course consisted of two days of didactical lectures and direct faculty “hands on” experience. Each student was able to utilize over six different FUE devices to successfully harvest grafts. “I was very impressed with the dedication and enthusiasm of the students. They did a great job at harvesting follicles with a lower than expected transection rate. Each student got the special attention of each faculty and walked away with greater eye-hand skill sets,” says Dr. Williams from the Irvine Institute of Medicine and Cosmetic Surgery, Irvine, California.
